MUNCHSTER BITES: Bar-b-King

We were at SM Megamall yesterday when we decided to try Bar-b-King. It was quite disappointing the we chose Bar-b-King over Hainanese Delights for dinner (early dinner! 3pm haha). Lesson learned: Never trust pictures!
OLD MENU grabbed from http://ph.openrice.com/info/restaurant-menus/filipino-cuisine/bar-b-king.html
Why I felt cheated after eating here...
1. Some of the prices increased by P10-P20.00 ($0.24-$0.48 USD).
2. They do not serve java rice, instead they'll give you one cup of garlic rice and plain rice for the unlimited refills.
3. The soup was too salty, we didn't ask for another refill.
4. The acclaimed Liempo King is sliced too thin and definitely not worth P135.00 ($3.27 USD).
5. Bee chose spicy liempo- it wasn't spicy at all. He only tasted a bit of spice when he munched on the bone.

What saved them...

1. Nice staff, a bit slow on the refills but attentive whenever you have a request.
2. The pork bbq was yummy and soft, you can easily cut through using a spoon. Although I couldn't tell the difference between spicy and sweet because it tasted the same.
3. The pork liempo was tender as well.

Will I eat here again? Most likely not but if I do I'd be ordering their Ala Pobre Meal which costs P50.00 only ($1.21 USD).

Will post the photos soon, the actual food served to us and you be the judge.

Bite Cost: P50-P200/person ($1.21-$4.84 USD)
Munch Worthy: Not really
Walker repeat: No.

I don't intend to destroy the restaurant's reputation, this is just my own opinion based on our experience dining here.

“I Can Be Body Beautiful at Any Age with Wacoal”

 “How can you be body beautiful at any age with Wacoal?”

WACOAL PRODUCT LIST
Anyone can be body beautiful with a healthy lifestyle, confidence and a pair of great underwear, the best kept secret of women my age :D Transitioning from being a teenager to a young adult is a monumental event. It's the age of independence and about making decisions that will turn our lives 360 degrees. From plain whites to color.
From hot summer flings to relationships for keeps. Change takes place.

Being in my early 20’s I’m very experimental when it comes to style and my overall image. I’m the type of girl that doesn’t go with the trend but go with what’s comfortable and stylish based on my perception.
Can be worn in several ways! Click here

I’m usually a t-shirt and jeans girl when going out on dates, but there are times when I’m required to wear slacks and dresses for business meetings. I chose this design (SA 2355, SJ 2355) because its versatile and can be used for various types of clothes. This design fits my body perfectly and will accentuate and enhance my assets. It has a pastel shade that goes well with light colored shirts and very age appropriate. A sweet sexy surprise for your special someone. Seriously, I don't mind spending a little extra for trusted
quality.

I just love the cute ribbon accent which matches my cutesy style. Its young, cute and sweet just like my personality (as how my bf describes me *blush*) . I also appreciate the half cup design for cleavage showing dresses.

You can’t go wrong with the right pair of underwear.
It can definitely make or break your over-all look and posture.

Its great that Wacoal tailor fit the appropriate design and style for various ages.
 Support Wacoal’s advocacy and be body beautiful inside and out! Keep abreast!

LEGALITIES: Voter's ID

I finally got registered after 6 years of legal age!
I'm now a registered voter :D

So, why get an ID now?
1. So that I can have another valid ID other than my passport which is risky to bring cause it might get lost and just thinking of the consequences and hassles of losing it is stressful enough.
2. To finally exercise my right to vote.
3. Deadline is on October 31.
4. It's FREE.

Last Friday (Oct. 19), Bee and I went to Pasig City Hall to apply for a Voters ID, it was around lunch time and luckily there were only a few people there. Hooray to NO NOON BREAK policy in government offices! Employees can't go simultaneously on breaks but take turns instead.

Others say that you need a Community Tax Certificate (Cedula) to apply, but in our case we were only asked to present a valid ID bearing our photo and complete/present address. My passport doesn't have an address written on it and was only valid for verifying my identity, luckily I brought my Health Certificate ID (issued by Pasig City Hall) which they allowed because it had my photo and address written on it.

Another thing , you don't really need your TIN No. in case you forgot about it.

Steps in applying for a Voter's ID (as we have experienced it):
1. Go to the Interviewer so he could ask you a few questions and verify your identity and residence. He/She will issue you an application form;
Tip: You can actually fill-up your registration form first if you already downloaded the form via online. Downloadable form: CEF-1A
2. Fill-up the form in three (3) copies;
3. Biometrics;
4. Thumb stamp on application form;
5. Signing of Officer in charge;
6. Get your Acknowledgement receip;
7. Get their landline number to follow-up on your Voter's ID or via online through PRECINCT FINDER
Tip: It takes months before you can get your actual Voter's ID. Be patient :

Reminders:
1. Bring a BLACK pen. I forgot to bring one and had to buy for P5.00.
2. The address written in your ID should match the address you wrote on your application form.
3. Have a photocopy of your valid ID.
4. You do not have to pay for anything, its FREE.
5. Valid ID should bear your photo and present address or you'll just be wasting your time. They do not consider your cedula as a valid document for verification of your address, hence you won't be able push through with your application.
6. Come early, people start to pile up after lunch.

BREKKIE SUNDAYS: Tapsi ni Vivian

Bee and I always have breakfast together every Sunday. This started when I rented my own place. We often go to Mcdonalds and order pancakes because its cheap :D Having breakfast with someone you're comfortable with is the best feeling ever!

We don't care if our hair is messy (well, Bee does :P), whether we're dressed in pajamas or raggy clothes, we just enjoy seeing each other first thing in the morning.

Last Sunday (October 14) after Renn's birthday our friend Ian suggested that we have breakfast at Vivian's (Tapsi ni Vivian) which was on the way going home. It was just perfect timing! Bee and I won't miss our Brekkie Sundate and this time we get to enjoy it with friends.

Tapsi ni Vivian according to Ian is a popular "banlawan" place in Marikina. P90 Pete, Top Driver Duo, Pastry King Ian, Bee and I arrived around 4:30 am and there were a handful of people dining already. Most of us ordered the usual Tapsilog while Pete and I opted for their Chicharon Bituka.

Yey! Mr. Cook preparing our food.
ALCOHOL + NO SLEEP + HEARTY BREAKFAST = DEEP SLEEP GOING HOME
CHICHASILOG - P80.00
TAPSILOG - P80.00
All breakfast meals are served with hot bulalo soup. YUM!
The only downside is that the prices of meals increased.

Well lit interior and spacious dining area.

Tapsi ni Vivian is open 24/7 and is a well known breakfast place in Marikina.
Bite Cost: P80/meal
Munch Worthy: Yes. A must-try!

Walker repeat: Yes.

LOOK: Shunji Matsuo Salon

After how many months, I decided to have my hair cut. I usually go for a "safe" cut - trimming and restyling my medium to long hair but this time I wanted to go for a short hairstyle. Why? Because the trend right now is having long wavy/curly hair and I didn't want to have the same hairstyle as everyone else. Don't get me wrong, I love curls but I just don't want to have it right now.

I want a similar hairstyle (please see photo)
Horikita Maki of Hana Kimi (jp)
So this is my before and after picture :D
Other pictures are posted in my facebook account, click here to view photos.

Not exactly the same with Maki's because my cut's longer but quite similar when in natural form (when it's not blow dried), plus my bangs are on the right side :D I'm really happy with my cut. It's a drastic change from my usual hairstyle.

I recommend Ms. Mercy of Shunji Matsuo Salon, Kapitolyo Pasig City. It took an hour plus to finish my cut. She's really into detail and very patient with customers.

Haircut rates (varies depending on stylist's rank)
Louie- P600.00
BamBam- P400.00
Mercy- P300.00 (RECOMMENDED by friends)
Stylist (forgot name) - P150.00

w/ shampoo, blow dry and styling (except for the P150)

Fact: The owner of Shunji Matsuo Salon also owns Cafe Juanita and Haru (formerly SOHO).

Located at #17 West Capitol Dr., Kapitolyo Pasig City
Telephone Number: 631-9424

LOOK cost: P300.00
Tip: P50.00

MUNCHSTER BITES: JiPan with Le MOM

A heavenly japanese fare at an old time favorite- JiPan

Mom and I went to SM Megamall last Sunday, she was craving for Japanese food and the first thing that came to mind was SumoSam. The food choices were a bit pricey. We plan to share one dish but I didn't like salmon, so I suggested that we check out Komoro Soba. Komoro Soba is relatively cheap but unfortunately they were not serving Chahan (fried rice) which my mom craves for. She remembered JiPan which was on the same floor. JiPAn is a small store selling baked goodies (bread, cakes etc.) and hot meals. We decided to eat there and it was a truly a great choice!

My mom ordered Chahan (Fried Rice) P100/cup, a bit pricey for the size of serving and a basket of Ebi Tempura P260/5 pieces.

I on the other hand was craving for Gyudon P200/order (Good for 2); additional egg for P20. The Gyudon was superb and relatively cheap for the amount of serving and quality of taste, adding raw egg is a must although ridiculously priced, 4 times its actual price :P Two people can share one (1) bowl, depending on your appetite.

While the Ebi Tempura had that crunch and authentic taste. A big plus is that they didn’t scrimp on the shrimps, all were plump and long. Nothing special about the sauce.

Take home left over, half Gyudon and 1 tempura strip. :D

Visit JiPan at  G/F SM Megamall-Bldg A, Doña Julia Vargas Ave
                    Wack Wack, Mandaluyong Philippines
                    Tel. No. (02) 633-5990

Total food cost: Chahan (P100) + Ebi Tempura (P260) + Gyudon (P200) + Egg (P20) - P50 Senior Citizen discount = P630.00 (no service charge)
