MUNCHSTER BITES: Bigoli

Bee's First Pay Day treat! :D

It's been a month since Bee started working for a construction company, he invited me out for lunch and insisted that he'll pay for it. :D Yay free food! We were supposed to try Suzu Kin Japanese Restaurant in Edsa but unfortunately they're closed on Sundays. Boo!

Our disappointed tummies dragged us to ETON Centris hoping to find a budget friendly restaurant, there were a handful of options but still we couldn't decide and ended up taking the train to Trinoma.

I've been craving for pizza and since I've tried Yellow Cab its was a choice between Sbarro and Ristorante Bigoli. I chose the latter.

We ordered their set meal for 2. I had a severe case of starving hulk syndrome and was a bit dizzy and cranky. Believe me, you don't like me when I'm hungry. To all the guys out there, always have an emergency kit with you at all times, it should contain- 1.) a chocolate bar- this will save you from the first attack, 2.) money- to buy food, this will save you from being crushed.

Bolognese Pasta: The pasta was cooked al dente, the sauce had that sweet and sour taste that I like.

Chicken and Cheese Overload Pizza: Perfect combination! I love the crispiness of the chicken and the marinade is such a hit for me. Sweet and tomatoey! The pizza was yummy as well although Pizza Hut's Ultimate Cheese Pizza is still better, too bad they don't serve it anymore.
Minestone Soup: I didn't like this at all. Call me stingy but if you want to waste money this is the soup for you. This soup needs a lot of improvement.

Fresh Salad: Nothing spectacular. Your usual salad in a small saucer.
Bee availed their bottomless drink, just add P35.00 and refill all you want.

Bigoli Bonus: FREE GARLIC BREAD REFILLS on all pasta meals.

Bee and I enjoyed our late lunch date, late because it took us more than an hour to decide what and where to eat. The food was good but my food buddy was the best.

Food-a-counting: Will post as soon as I find the receipt. :P

Bite Cost: P150-P200/person
Munch worthy: Yes. Except for the minestone soup.
Walker repeat: Yes. I'd love to try their Tour Italy (3 pastas in 1 plate)

Note: If there are any grammatical errors please advise me. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

HZ ON A DATE: Kanin Club

Valentines Day for me is a once a year excuse to be cheesy and a glutton. Literally eating to your heart's content. I remember when we started dating, we usually have theme dates and dress according to our chosen theme.

This heart month our theme was Til' Death do us part. Don't worry we didn't dress up as zombies but we did have a death defying dinner.

For the CHEESY part we had Ranch O'Cheddar Fries from Potato Corner. We got this for free thanks to my deal predator like skill of grabbing deals online.

On the glutton side we had Crispy Dinuguan and Aligue Rice
The serving was good enough for 3-5 people (regular portions)

We almost finished it all in one sitting! I was feeling a bit dizzy after and the fact that I don't really eat dinuguan made me hurl a bit. Every bite of it made me sick and definitely didn't convert me into a dinuguan eater. Bee on the other hand enjoyed it a lot, he said that the dinuguan was good.

The only dish that saved us from near death was the Adobong Kangkong which I ordered.  It was tasty but could be improved, maybe mix in a little bagoong to make it a bit salty.

Service: Great! Accommodating staff and were prompt in our requests. They could improve on informing guests that they have to wait in line for a table. We just walked in and were asked to go out again and wait for an open table.

MENU:

Food-a-counting:
Crispy Dinuguan        P274.00
Aligue Rice               P156.00
Adobong Kangkong    P102.00
5% Service Charge    P26.60

Total Cash-Out        P558.60

Bite Cost: P200/meal
Munch worthy: Yes. But will not eat dinuguan again  (well, in my case)
Walker repeat: I'm curious about the Sinigang Rice :D

PLDT myDSL’s best commercial for me is…

PLDT myDSL's Anna Banana commercial goes VIRAL! PLDT's smart move to take on the world wide web is simply genius. From high number of YouTube views to hundreds of blogsites! Bloggers nationwide talked about Derek's sweet proposal to Anna and we just can't get enough of this quirky commercial series.

Refresh your kilig, funny and heart warming moments again by clicking on these videos. :D
It started with Derek's Anna Banana Song

then Derek got busted

and Aria is the new Anna Banana of his life

My favorite commercial is Booster, the Lost Dog :) I'm a partial pet owner of my bf's dog so I know how Mama Berns felt when Booster got away. It was really sweet of them to help Daddy David apologize to Mama Berns and surprise her with Booster, even Aria was able to help out. Apologizing doesn't have to be mainstream, the Lorenzo's were able to put a twist to it and surprise Mama Berns all at the same time in different areas without struggling with lags, this best shows how reliable a family-sized connection is. Apologizing is one of the hardest things to do but thanks to 10Mbps of uninterrupted connection they were able to pull it off flawlessly.
the family became more connected when Booster, the Lost Dog was found

Don't settle for second, be in the know and one of the firsts to subscribe to the PLDT myDSL Anna Banana YouTube Channel so that you can be up to date with what’s happening to the Lorenzo family. I'm sure there will be more stories that we can relate to.

MUNCHSTER BITES: House of Lasagna

Again, I purchased food vouchers from Ensogo and scored 1 whole Beef Lasagna with free 1 whole Carbonara Lasagna from House of Lasagna's newly opened branch at Eton Centris.

I tagged it as the next best thing compared to my all time favorite Beef Lasagna from Bon a Petit.  The pasta was cooked al dente and generous servings of sauce and cheese.

Bee liked the Carbonara over the beef while I had my taste buds raving for the beef lasagna because of the hefty servings of cheese, would be better if they added more beef.

The service was superb and availing our voucher was a breeze. I'd love to go back. The prices for the lasagna was reasonable considering the quality and the serving size. Other menu items were a little bit steep for us but maybe the taste and servings would compensate for it.

After filling our tummies we hopped on the MRT to go to Gateway to watch Les Miserables. We opted to take the train rather than bring the car because of the FREE Parking at Centris.

Les Miserables was a great movie especially for those who are into Broadway musicals because this movie was 2% talk and 98% singing. Anne Hathaway truly deserves her Golden Globe. I was moved by her portrayal of Fantine, the despair of a mother separated from her child and was forced to give up her lovely long hair, tooth and soul. Another highlight for me was Sacha Baron Cohen. I couldn't stop laughing whenever he would be in the scene. I can't help but imagine Borat and Aladeen but he did justice to his role. Bravo Sacha!

It was around 9:15pm when we headed back to Centris. It was a fun night for Bee and I, although I had my occasional mood swings but Bee was patient enough to tolerate it.

MUNCHSTER BITES: Spring by Ha Yuan

One of our New Year's resolution: Be FIT! So this means daily exercise routines and diet by eating healthy and portion control.

It was a great decision that I availed a voucher from Spring by Ha Yuan last year (P150 for P400 worth of food and drinks) because they have various menu options for health conscious diners.

Redemption was a breeze! We were promptly welcomed and ushered to our seat by Mike. There were only a few people dinning that time probably because we arrived around 2:00 pm and like most Chinese restaurants they offer you unlimited hot tea.

I was looking into trying something healthy so I looked through their vegetarian food offerings while Bee as usual looked over the meat options.

My order:
Monk's Plate, dry tossed noodles in soy sauce, grilled tofu, shitake mushrooms, red bell peppers, pechay and topped with peanuts. Served with peanut sauce. Both of us loved this dish! Definitely a must try for first time Spring diners.

Ha Yuan Signature Lumpia - regular size (Good for 2 persons)

Bee's Plate:
Lechon Macau Rice Toppings, tender meat and crispy pork skin, ample amount of serving.

Hairy Pig KaPao - snack size. Tip: Better get the regular size, more sulit.

I was a bit disappointed because the Piggy Red Bean Pao was not available but the good thing is, we have a reason to go back :D

Food-a-counting:
Monks Plate (Dry tossed noodles)    P140.00
HY Signature Lumpia (Regular)        P60.00
