MUNCHSTER BITES: Chubby's Rib Shack

A pre-birthday celebration for Bee :D

Yesterday, we used the Deal Grocer voucher I bought for Jai's Birthday Celebration, P250 for P500 worth of food and drinks at Chubby's Rib Shack, Solaris One Makati City. The voucher is valid on weekends only.

We arrived past 7:30 pm yesterday and there were only a few people dinning that time. The waitress didn't assist us immediately upon arriving so we just decided to pick a seat.

Sorry for the low quality photos. Used my camera phone :P
Jai ordered their Baby Back Ribs (P349) served with Texas Toast, Honky Tonk Rice and Coleslaw. Choose from Homestyle BBQ, Honey BBQ and Cayenne BBQ. Jai added a side dish of fries to his meal (P29). The Baby Back Ribs was flavorful, tender and lip smacking good but not "fall off the bone" quality. The Honky Tonk rice was okay, I prefer the BWNT dirty rice, the toast on the other hand was perfectly made, crunchy on the outside and soft as you bite through.
I feasted on their half pound Honey BBQ wings (P134). I loved the sauce and the crisp chicken skin and tender chicken meat.

The food was good but not spectacular. The price was reasonable but I wish they'd add more rice to their Baby Back Ribs meal. The service, err...not great. Chubby's Rib Shack is definitely a must try for the food alone, don't expect much on the quality of service (well based on our experience in Solaris branch).

Bite cost: P200/meal
Munch worthy: Yes. 7/10 bites!
Walker repeat: Will go back for the food.

MUNCHSTER BITES: Bagnet Boy

First, I got attracted to their logo. I'm a collector of pig stuff (from stuff toy, accesories etc.) so it was like looking at a pot of piggy gold. I decided to eat here and ordered their Bagnet with rice meal. Yummy! It has that crisp and crunch you're looking for in authentic bagnet. I haven't tried the original bagnet from Ilocos though but this is the closest I've gone.
The most affordable bagnet meal starts at P85.00- bagnet served with soup, rice and tomatoes w/cucumber as a side dish.

You can have it with your choice of veggies for P99.00 or be crazy over bagnet and order their 1/4kilo for P175.00. They also have other combo meals (w/o the bagnet) of Ilocos favorites such as sinanglaw and other specialties such as kare-kare, binagoongan, crispy dinuguan etc. for P65.00 only.

Watch for my next Bagnet adventure soon...Bagnet 8065! :D

Visit Bagnet Boy at Shangri-la Food Court or Robinsons Galleria Food Court.

Total food cost: P65.00 - P100.00/meal

Bite cost: P85.00/bagnet meal
Munch worthy: Yes, worth the cholesterol
Walker repeat: Yes. A quick bagnet crave escape.

Disclaimer: Bagnet Boy did not pay me to write this review.

OUT OF TOWN: Nathaniel's Pampanga

Nathaniel's Bakeshop treats you to a gastronomical adventure with variety of merienda (desserts) favorites. Nathaniel's Bakeshop is famous among "Kapangpangans" because of its delectable food matched with affordable prices.

For starters, Pork Siomai
Yummy Pork Siomai filled with real meat. I didn't get that "umay" feeling after eating a few (ahem...a lot).

The famous Buko Pandan Salad

Frozen Buko Pandan, as if your eating icecream. Has generous pandan and buko fillings. Definitely the best buko pandan I have ever tasted!

Cheesy Pichy-Pichy

Tasted okay, nothing special about it. Has generous shreds of cheddar cheese.

Puto
Same as the pichy pichy, was okay. Nothing spectacular about it.

The good news is... you don't have to go all the way to Pampanga to sink your teeth into these yummy treats. Just hop over to Timog, QC and feast on affordable food, from their famous snacks to their ala carte offerings.

Btw, Thank you to my sister Cho who bought all of these goodies :D

MUNCHSTER BITES: Musashi

Jai and I first discovered Musashi side by side with the carinderia/s at the back of St. Francis Square, you'll pass by this esquinita street going to Podium Mall. The stall eventually closed due to low sales. I think that the biggest disadvantage of Musashi is their location, their price range is not fit for the target market of their area. But no need to fret, you can still try their takoyaki at SM Mall of Asia, Harrison Plaza or Victory Mall branch.

What I love about Musashi is the softness of the Takoyaki drizzled in flavorful thick brown sauce (oyster sauce?not sure), japanese mayo and nori powder.
For me, THIS IS THE BEST TAKOYAKI IN TOWN! Even our friend Ian compared it to Hana's Takoyaki in Little Tokyo, Makati and definitely agreed that Musashi's Takoyaki is really good!

Total food cost: P100 for 8pcs.

Bite Cost: P50-P100/person
Munch Worthy: Yes! Quality Takoyaki!
Walker repeat: Will DEFINITELY keep coming back for more

Frostbite: New Zealand Natural

I availed another voucher from Ensogo, one scoop for only 47php instead of 95php per scoop.

I ordered Hokey Pokey, Crunchy butterscotch balls, folded into creamy honeycomb flavored ice cream. I totally love this! The descriptions says it all. Perfect!

and an additional scoop (50php) of Rainbow, a kaleidoscope of natural flavors with a bubblegum flavor, was okay nothing spectacular but definitely better than other bubblegum ice cream in the metro.
Definitely worth trying.

For flavor selection, kindly click below:
Total food cost: P47/scoop (ensogo voucher) + P50 additional scoop = P97

Bite Cost: P95/person
Munch Worthy: Yes
Walker repeat: Depends, Quite pricey

“SkinWhite and Nuffnang bring you Snow White and the Huntsman”

I still recall the first time we met; we were classmates in a review class. He sat behind me. I never thought that someone like him would be interested in me. I’m shy, timid and mostly aloof while he was friendly and coy. I tried everything possible to evade him but even with all my efforts to push him away, he just kept on trying. It was five years after we finally became a couple. It wasn't a continuous courtship, he even had a girlfriend before me but deep inside he wanted me, only me. He couldn't resist holding my soft hands and my white skin along with my weirdness because unlike other girls, I didn't dress according to the latest trend.I also have mannerisms that he finds amusing and unique. He's my number 1 fan and BFF!

Its funny when he gets a little protective whenever I wear a sleeveless top or if my dress shows off a little skin. I get that giddy feeling knowing that he wants me for himself. My prince is blunt to say that my blush white skin is such a turn-on and commands attention.

Skin White gives me blush white skin with its complete whitening package, I keep my skin flawlessly white and nourished thanks to Skin White’s SYNCHROWHITE ACTION that works FOUR ways all at the same time;
WHITENS the skin’s surface
REDUCES formation of new dark pigments at its source
NOURISHES skin with Vitamins
PROTECTS skin against toxins and UV rays

making my skin evenly white. Skin White has a range of whitening products available. For hidden areas such as underarms with Classic Whitening Deodorant to Whitening Soap, Power Whitening Face Cream and Whitening Lotion for a total skin make over. Getting him hooked effortlessly.

He wants to be near me all the time and I am submissive to his loving touch as his hands smoothly run through my skin. I feel sexy, confident and irresistible with Skin White, My prince is a living proof of that!

Now everyone can have blush white skin fit for a princess and you’ll have your prince sweeping you off your feet in no time. Here’s how:

MUNCHSTER BITES: Ma Chicken Mami House

A meal best shared by two and more affordable too.

Last April 29, Jai was scheduled to meet a friend in SM The Block and since it was a Sunday, Jai invited me to tag along. The mall was packed! Long lines at the movies for the Avengers showing. While waiting for his friend we looked for a place where there were only a few people and was conducive enough to have a proper conversation. Luckily, we stumbled upon Ma Chicken Mami House. Initially, Jai and I were looking for a coffee shop but most of the cafe's were crowded and had limited space and I didn't like the idea of hearing other people's conversations  because I have the tendency to make comments verbally or mentally. :p And another downside of cafe's is their expensive coffee.

What attracted us to Ma was their meal package for 2. For only P178 you can feast on a huge serving of Crispy Piencit Canton, yes you heard it right "piencit" and two pieces of fried bread.

The Piencit Canton was flavorful and topped with vegetables, kikiam and fish fillet (really good!).

The place can accommodate 12 pax inside and about 16 pax on their al fresco dinning area. I recommend Ma for budget conscious couples and for those who would want to have small meetings. Instead of spending P170-P180 for a frappe or cup of coffee, why not  indulge on a hearty snack for two, that's P89 per person!

Visit Ma Chicken Mami House at 4th Level SM The Block.

Total food cost: Crispy Piencit Canton with fried bread - P178 + House water (free) = P178.00 NO SERVICE CHARGE

Bite Cost: P100/person
Munch Worthy: Yes. Definitely for those on a budget!
Walker repeat: Yes! A perfect substitute for coffee meetings.
